This is an annual celebration of Gaelic culture and music which is held in mid October at a different site in Scotland. It is a mix of competitions and (lots of) socialising and we usually stay for two nights, depending on the location. We have all made many friendships over the years at The MOD and look forward to renewing these and catching up with everyone.
We meet every Tuesday evening from 7.30 to 9.30 in St Columba’s Church Hall, Aubery Crescent, Largs. We tend to stop practices during school holiday time. At the moment practices have stopped due to Covid but we hope to resume them soon.
No. There are varying levels of proficiency in Gaelic in the choir with several members having no prior knowledge. We have a very patient Gaelic tutor and also learn from other choir members.
This is useful but again many choir members don’t have this skill. Most of our music and Gaelic files are online and can be accessed by members from this website.
