Our Musical Director

Our Musical Director David Douglas joined us in November 2024 after the retirement of our much loved conductor,Eilidh Johnson who had been with us for eight years.David trained at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and The Royal Northern College of Music.He is a tenor who lives in Ayrshire and has a strong interest in Scottish and Gaelic music.His ground-breaking Scots and Scottish Gaelic language opera projects earned him a Scottish Gaelic Award nomination in Arts and Culture.He has also performed widely with prestigious opera companies including Les Arts Florissants,Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Scottish Opera.He leads community music initiatives involving both adults and children.
